WHS provides comprehensive one-on-one counseling, allowing individuals to speak freely and confidentially with a licensed counselor in a private setting. While group therapy and self-help meetings play critical roles in many people’s recovery from drug addiction, they don’t always give the individual focus needed at times. WHS offers weekly individual counseling sessions with our master’s level therapists. During these private sessions, clients meet with their Outpatient Drug Rehab counselor to discuss specific challenges, set personal goals, and work through key issues. We welcome both teenagers and adults to explore our recovery centers to learn more about our individualized counseling services for addressing both mental health and substance abuse problems.
Our program guarantees at least one hour of individual therapy every week. During this time, clients engage in in-depth, private sessions with a master's level clinician. Many of our clients find these personal meetings with their WHS counselor immensely important, as it provides a trusted platform for self-expression. One-on-one sessions at WHS are instrumental during addiction treatment because:
The private counseling rooms at WHS are designed to be warm, inviting, and comfortable, making clients feel at ease irrespective of where they are in their recovery journey. Clients often report feeling more positive and empowered after each individual therapy session. This is crucial, as each session aims to encourage and motivate clients to move closer to their goals. The counselors at WHS make a concerted effort to establish goals early in the recovery process, proceeding at a pace comfortable for the client. Through various therapeutic modalities, clients gain clarity, strength, and motivation, transferring the lessons learned in therapy into their day-to-day lives.
WHS provides a sanctuary for clients striving for sobriety. While both individual and group therapies are available, each serves a distinct purpose at different stages of recovery. Almost anyone can benefit from a personalized counseling session. Our counselors are equipped to handle a wide range of issues, whether big or small. Clients in critical situations, feeling out of control, or having self-harm thoughts can seek immediate assistance from our private counselors. Those further along in their recovery may also find group sessions beneficial, offering valuable peer support and interaction. Balancing solo and group therapy cultivates a mix of effective recovery strategies.

How long does it take to get into IOP and how do I get in?
You can typically start almost immediately. We accept new clients daily, eliminating the need to wait for a specific session to end. Most people can be assessed within 1-2 days of their first contact, and then join our intensive outpatient groups the following day.
Who will be leading the group sessions?
At WHS, we exclusively employ master's level therapists for substance abuse counseling and addiction treatment. Our therapists are specialized in drug and alcohol addiction treatment and are among the top professionals in the field, ensuring the highest quality of care for our clients.
What curriculum do you use?
WHS employs two evidence-based curriculums. The first is "Integrating Dialectical Behavioral Therapy with 12 Steps," produced by Hazelden. The second is "Seeking Safety" by Lisa M. Najavits PhD, which addresses trauma and addiction. These curriculums combine to provide a dynamic approach to strengthen a client’s recovery from substance abuse.
Do you provide inpatient treatment where individuals stay overnight?
No, WHS does not offer inpatient residential treatment. We focus solely on IOP. However, we have strong connections with incredible residential inpatient facilities across Texas and can refer you to these if that level of care is needed.
We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours.
Our licensed physical therapists provide personalized care to help you recover from injury or surgery. We use evidence-based techniques to help you regain strength, mobility, and function.
